• Course Content

    This course will introduce, train, assess and qualify where appropriate, experienced and non-experienced candidates who need to obtain the minimum legal qualification to install, commission, service, maintain, recover & leak check all refrigeration, air conditioning & heat pump systems in accordance with the F Gas Regulations.   Sufficient skills, knowledge and techniques to:
    • Fabricate & fit mechanical and brazed joints
    • Pressure test and evacuate
    • Charge a blended refrigerant
    • Analyse system performance to ensure efficiency (using pressure, temperature, and refrigerant state)
    • Leak test
    • Maintain ‘F Gas’ log books and records
    • Handle refrigerant safely & dispose of legally
    • Ensure systems are tight, efficient in their use of energy and meet the F Gas legal requirements

  • Course Content

    Understand and apply hydrocarbons, RAC System installation, testing, and servicing and maintenance techniques. This is aimed at experienced engineers who work on systems containing hydrocarbon and flammable refrigerants. To enrol on this course you must be experienced in working with refrigeration and air-conditioning systems and must hold the C&G 2079- 11, 2079-12 or equivalent qualification. Key learning points:
    • Dangers of working with hydrocarbons and identifying hazards
    • Regulations for the installation, servicing and de-commissioning of hydrocarbon RAC systems
    • Hazards and safe working practices for the recovery, storage and transportation of recovered refrigerants
    • Recovery of refrigerant and oil and preparation for disposal
    • Understand and apply hydrocarbons, RAC System installation, testing, and servicing and maintenance techniques.
    How you will be assessed? Level 2 Understand and carry out brazing techniques for RAC systems (2 Credits) – Theory and practical Level 2 Understand and apply hydrocarbon RAC system installation, testing, servicing and maintenance techniques (2 Credits) – Theory and practical
