Working at Height

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification has been specifically designed to increase awareness of safety considerations whilst working at height, including the importance of the equipment used and how to ensure a safe working environment. The Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Working at Height (RQF) is ideal for those who work, or are aspiring to work in any type of environment that may require them to work at height, such as: building and construction, agriculture, forestry, factories, warehouses and more. During this 3 hour course, candidates will focus on the safety considerations, legal obligations, control measures and reporting procedures for working at height; leaving the course with knowledge of a wide variety of equipment and the principles used to ensure safe working at height. This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides learners with the opportunity to develop their understanding of the principles of safer manual handling. The Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling qualification has been specifically designed for all employees to help raise their awareness of the risks associated with unsafe manual handling practices. Paediatric First Aid

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides learners with the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations, illnesses, injuries and emergencies which can arise when looking after children. The QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (QCF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide first aid to children and/or babies. This qualification fulfils Ofsted’s first aid requirements for early years teachers, nursery workers and child-minders (as defined within the Statutory Framework for Early Years Foundation Stage 2014 and within the Child Care Register Guide). Over a 2-day period, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations, including:

Safe Isolation

The safe isolation course will provide you with the confidence to carry out or recognise a safe isolation procedure. During the day, the course encourages candidates to learn about the legislation and practical procedures, and will help you gain a qualification from a leading training provider. This is a practical and theory-based course, and learners will be shown all aspects of the safe isolation procedure to enable them to carry out the task with confidence. Over the day, you’ll work in a classroom environment with a small number of other students and a professional tutor to learn the key points of safe isolation, using several different test instruments. On completion of the course, candidates will be able to:

Demonstrate an appreciation of the dangers associated with electricity

Comply with risk assessments, method statements, PTW systems

Correctly and safely test for dead in single and three-phase systems

Explain the requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 with reference to safe isolation

Have knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Management of Health and Safety at Work regulations 1999 with regard to safe isolation

How you will be assessed? You will need to complete a number of practical isolations on different test rigs.
