A traineeship is an education and training programme with work experience that unlocks the great potential of young people and prepares them for their future careers by helping them to become ‘work ready’.
Designed to help young people aged 16 to 24 who don’t yet have the appropriate skills or experience, traineeships provide the essential work preparation training, English, maths and work experience needed to secure an apprenticeship or employment.
Our traineeships provide an opportunity for both learners and employers to…
‘Try before you buy’!
This enables learners to work for an employer for an agreed amount of time (minimum of 6 weeks and 100 hours and a maximum of 6 months) before progressing to an apprenticeship. This is a successful route to take as it allows a learner to decide if they want to commit to an apprenticeship down a specific vocational route whilst at the same time the employer can decide if the learner is the ‘right fit’ for their company needs.
Many learners feel this is a good approach for them as it provides them with an insight into the company and each party can decide if this is the right vocational route for them before committing a substantial amount of time to the apprenticeship.
